EDITORIAL STANDARDS

Editorial Policy

The Way Islam aims to publish educational content with accuracy, clear attribution, respectful language and responsible distinctions between sources and explanation.

Independence and Accuracy

  1. Editorial Independence

Educational content should not be altered to serve commercial sponsors or unrelated commercial interests. Sponsorship does not determine the religious conclusions, source selection or editorial position of The Way Islam content.

  2. Accuracy

Factual claims and religious references should be checked before publication. Where certainty is limited, the language should reflect that limitation.

  3. Source Attribution

Important claims should identify the source closely enough for a reader to understand and, where practical, examine it.

Religious and Sensitive Content

  1. Religious Content

Qur’an text, translation, Hadith, historical material, scholarly interpretation and The Way Islam editorial explanation should be identified as distinct forms of material.

  2. Sensitive Topics

Contested, legal, political and socially sensitive subjects require additional context, careful wording and an appropriate level of review.

  3. Differences of Interpretation

Relevant scholarly differences should be acknowledged rather than presenting one interpretation as the only possible view without explanation.

Accountability

  1. Corrections

When a meaningful factual or source error is identified, we aim to correct it promptly and update the content where appropriate.

  2. Updates

Material changes should be reflected through updated dates or editorial records when the publishing system supports them.

  3. Authorship

Named authorship will be displayed only when a real contributor identity is ready for public use. We do not invent staff profiles or credentials.

  4. Review Process

The level of review should match the subject. We do not claim specialist or scholarly review unless a qualified reviewer has actually completed it.

Use of AI and Automated Tools

Technology may assist research, organization, transcription, translation workflows or production processes, but published educational content remains subject to The Way Islam editorial standards and source review.

Automated systems are not religious authorities. Unreviewed generated religious claims should not be published as authoritative content.
